Chat
In this, the “post-it note anniversary” of the podcast:
- David and Adam can see each other, and they’re silly looking.
- Adam is a robe guy, and his pieces are better than yours. Except when they’re not.
- By definition, we can’t all be exceptional.

Chapter 2—Attention and effort
As a follow-up to last week’s chat, David has second thoughts on blaming all educational problems on the unequal distribution of school funding. This comes from his recent re-reading Chapter 2 of Daniel Kahneman’s book, “Thinking Fast and Slow.”
Dave’s summary: Money alone won’t solve problems that originate outside of school. For example, stress and lack of sleep are important factors in drained thinking and learning capacity.
Statistical power
As always, we draw heavily from the website “Statistics Done Wrong.”
